Vintage Jubilee Asymmetrical Driver’s Watch

Starting off this week with a wild one, a vintage Jubilee asymmetrical driver’s watch that has a super cool see through acrylic case! The case is wedge shaped and raised at the top to make it easier to read while your hand is on your steering wheel. The clear acrylic is really neat, giving you a view of the inner workings. The case is nice and clear, with sharp edges and no cracks or crazing that I can see. The deep blue crosshair dial has a beautiful patina, giving it a lapis lazuli look. The blue strap has to be original, it fits both in style and color too perfectly. Seller states the watch runs, so it’s ready to show off at your next cocktail party!

Vintage Bulova Beau Brummel

If it’s bling you seek, search no further! This vintage 1965 Bulova Beau Brummel is a stunner, with bling and style in spades. The 10k gold filled case is excellent and appears unpolished, with nice sharp edges and sharp fancy lugs. The wide smooth bezel gives the watch real presence. Speaking of presence, check out that bullseye style gold dial with the real diamond hour markers at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11. Now, this style certainly isn’t for everyone, but if it suits you, it doesn’t get much better than this Bulova. The watch comes on a vintage JB Champion leather strap that goes perfectly, and it even comes in the correct original inner and outer box set that says “Diamond Dial” right on it. Amazing piece!

Seiko 6105-8009/8119 “Willard”

This gem requires no introduction to any discerning watch collector. The vintage Seiko 6105-8119 is an absolute timeless classic. The oversized steel case with that bulging crown guard and ‘locking’ deeply gnurled crown are instantly recognizable. The case on this example is amazing, with sharp edges and all of the original brushed finish evident. The elapsed time divers bezel is superb, with hardly any marks at all. The black dial is excellent, but does show a little bit of the frequently found ‘black funk’ on some of the lume of the markers and hands. I’ve seen it much worse than on this one. If you don’t mind a little patina on the dial/markers, then give this 6105 a close look. Original, unmolested examples of the 6105 are getting increasingly difficult to find at all, let alone at auction.

Vintage Mitchell Skin Diver

Here’s a pretty scarce one, a vintage Mitchell skin diver from France. True, the watch doesn’t have a dive bezel, but it is still considered a dive watch due to the amazing lumed dial and huge lumed paddle hands, making it easy to read under water. The case is chrome plated with a steel back, and in pretty good condition. Even though it lacks a dive bezel, check out that super wide, flat bezel – what a great look! The crown exhibits wear, but that is not unusual for these. But all that aside, the dial and hands are clearly the hero here, and the reason this watch is highly sought after by collectors. Nice black dial, with those big arrow/shark tooth lume markers, and the enormous and unique paddle hands. To find one of these with the dial/hands in this shape is unusual.

Vulcain Cricket Grand Prix

This vintage Vulcain Cricket is a real stunner! The 34mm steel case shows wear from age, but appears unpolished, and has nice sharp chamfers on the killer lugs. The steel crown is signed with the “V” logo, and the alarm button is original too. The fancy dial is amazing, with a quadrant style diagonal groove texture and applied faceted steel markers. It looks to me like there might be a few marks on the cream dial, but the seller states all the marks are one the crystal, which would be ideal. Nevertheless, it’s a beauty either way. And who doesn’t love a vintage alarm watch? I mean sure, there’s an alarm on your iPhone, but wouldn’t you rather use this beauty instead??

Vintage Paul Peugeot Day-Date Diver

Last but not least this week is this massive and wild vintage Paul Peugeot diver. The 38mm steel chunk of a case is a big block and looks unpolished with nice sharp edges. The steel divers elapsed time bezel doesn’t have any paint in the numbers, but you could remedy that if desired. The silver dial is really cool, with an Aqua-Lung logo on it, as well as a day/date window at 3 o’clock. The crown isn’t signed, but it is screwdown and likely original. The watch was originally rated to a depth of 500 feet, although I’d stick to desk diving with it. Really good looking Aqua-Lung co-branded diver.
