The crown jewel in ASICS' lineup, the GEL-KAYANO 14 will soon release in a "Sweet Pink" and "Tai Chi Yellow" iteration. The sneaker has shown to be one of the most sought-after silhouettes in the retro tech runner category, thanks in due part to its slender metallic frame, as well as choice collaborations that have recently included atmos and Aritzia.
The Japanese label opts to keep things simple by maintaining the lustrous metallic accents of the GEL-KAYANO 14, adding in "Sweet Pink" and "Tai Chi Yellow" details at the branded callouts, as well as in the gel cushioning. Further details include a breathable white mesh base and black stripes across the center and throughout the upper.
Originally launched in 2008, the GEL-KAYANO 14 is named after its designer, Toshikazu Kayano, and was lauded early on for providing runners with shock absorption, ensuring a smooth and stable ride — whether in short or long distances. The forthcoming "Sweet Pink" and "Tai Chi Yellow" do not officially have a release date yet, but expect both shoes to drop for $150 USD later this year.
