Update: After many months of waiting, the Air Jordan 17 Low "Lightning" is finally set to make its return, and is doing so in grand fashion. While presented in its traditional white leather, black and yellow build, the sneaker notably is accompanied by a briefcase that its high-top counterpart originally released with. Highlighted in this visual preview, the slick silver carrying case sports tonal Jumpman branding at the exterior. Release is said to be taking place via Jordan NBHD accounts exclusively, meaning no drop via the SNKRS app. Look for it to launch via select retailers on May 30 at a price of $300 USD. For more info about the pair, review our initial breakdown below.
Original Story: The Air Jordan 17 Low "Lightning" was first worn by the legendary Michael Jordan for his final NBA All-Star Game in 2002 as a member of the Washington Wizards. The shoe, also known as "All Star," is now slated to make a retro return in 2024, but at a much higher price than expected.
This particular pair of Jordan Brand shoes comes dressed in a white, lightning, black and chrome color scheme. The upper is highlighted in white leather while the inner sleeve for extra support is in black dynamic fit. The contrasting lightning accents are seen around the toe and midsole while the signature chrome strip is around the heel. The shoe also comes equipped with an integrated lace-up closure for lockdown, as well as a full-length shank plate and a TPU heel stabilizer for added support. Herringbone traction is seen on the undrfoot to round out the design.
Look out for the Air Jordan 17 Low "Lightning" arriving in Summer 2024 at select retailers and online at Nike. The shoe is expected to retail for $300 USD.
