Vintage Omega Seamaster DeVille
The Seamaster DeVille line was Omega’s dressier version of their sporty Seamaster. This example looks much like the Geneve line they put out, with its simple round case and thin bezel with straight skinny lugs. Very clean and classic 1960’s dress watch look, especially with the gold cap case. The 34-35mm case is in nice shape, and the gold cap is holding up strong. The original silver dial looks good, with a few specks here and there. The watch has the correct and original crown, and also comes with the original seven-row beads of rice bracelet! Seller states the watch runs and keeps time, so you’re all set for your next cocktail party!
1970s Initial Dynamic
Here’s a wild one for you, a vintage 1970’s direct read/jump hour from Initial Dynamic. Don’t worry if you’ve never heard of them, I haven’t either! But that doesn’t mean this isn’t a super cool looking watch. Check out that oval ‘dial’, with the awesome direct read window on the left, and matching date window on the right. The chrome plated case is excellent, with sharp edges and the original brushed finish. The strap looks original to me, with a cool metal outer part and rubber (?) inner part. The seller states the watch comes with the original box and paperwork, although these are not pictured. Great funky piece that should not stress the wallet.
Vintage Citizen Bullhead Flyback Chronograph
If you like funky, you will love this amazing 1960’s Citizen bullhead chronograph! These are just so cool, and becoming harder and harder to find. The model 67-9001 has the classic bullhead chunky steel case, with the crown and pushers at the top of the watch instead of the right side, hence the “bullhead” moniker. The case looks to be in good shape, as does the crystal. The panda style white dial with black subdials looks clean and original. Nice bright yellow chronograph hands make for easy reading. This example comes with an original bracelet with a signed buckle, and even the crown is correct and signed as well! Seller stated the watch runs and works properly. These truly are becoming difficult to find in good, original condition, so here’s your chance if you’ve been pining for one.
Vintage Baylor Chronograph
Here’s another great looking piece that shouldn’t kill your budget. This vintage Baylor chronograph has that “poor man’s Carrera” look which is so popular. Nice sharp, unpolished steel case with trim lugs that have a sharp chamfer, and the silver dial with silver subdials. The dial looks original and is clean, with a little wear around the edge in spots, but nothing obtrusive. Nothing fancy, just a clean, classic vintage chronograph. This one is powered by a Landeron 149 manual wind movement which looks clean and runs well per the seller.
Vintage 1960’s Omega Seamaster
If you’re a fan of patina, look no further than this stunning vintage Omega Seamaster. This gem is housed in the more classic fat lug, 35mm steel case with the nice Hippocampus caseback logo. The case has been polished unfortunately, but the logo on the back was spared. However, if you can look past the polishing, the dial is an absolute beauty Two-tone honeycomb texture dial with silver middle and golden outer ring that has an incredible patina to it. The hour markers are small applied golden arrows, with gold hands. Overall the look is quite striking. The crown is the correct ‘clover leaf’ style. No movement picture, but the seller states it is powered by the Omega caliber 501 automatic movement that is currently running.
Vintage Seikomatic Weekdater
Going to leave you this week with another vintage gem that won’t leave you broke. This September 1966 Seikomatic 6206-8040 is a beauty! The 40mm steel case is in good shape, with nice lugs and a cool recessed crown at 4 o’clock. Simple silver dial with applied steel markers and steel dauphine hands that are a Seiko staple. The date window is at 3 o’clock, while the day window is in a novel location at 6 o’clock. The caseback engraving, which includes the old-school Seiko whale logo, is easily readable. The Seiko automatic caliber 6202B movement is clean and runs well per the seller. How can you go wrong?
