A new era of adidas Basketball is here, after launching the Fear of God-esque "Remember The Why" apparel capsule at the end of 2022, the brand hosted a special showcase during NBA All-Star Weekend in 2023 -- revealing the future of its lifestyle and performance offerings. Since then, silhouettes such as the Crazy Infinity have been embraced by sneakerheads as a past-meets-present fusion. Now, with the launch of Fear of God Athletics having taken place at the end of 2023, the "2024 Collection" takes center stage for the basketball division.
Leading the collection, the Mad IIInfinity -- previously referred to as the Superteam 2000 S during the aforementioned showcase -- is finally set to make its debut. Landing in a "Carbon" colorway to start, a combination of mesh, suede and synthetic leather is utilized throughout the shoe's futuristic upper. Similar to the Crazy Infinity, its bulky shape seems to draw from adidas Basketball's DNA -- referencing silhouettes such as the Crazy 1. Its upper sees most of the lacing system covered, while adidas branding is very subtle with a small version of the Three Stripes logo appearing in blue at the toe and heel. Silver linework adds to the color arrangement that is otherwise entirely-black in its presentation.
For those interested in checking out the adidas Mad IIInfinity, it is set to debut in this "Carbon" colorway on February 15 at 10am EST via adidas and select retailers at a starting price of $180 USD. Enjoy an official visual breakdown of the shoe above and stay tuned for coverage featuring additional designs of the new silhouette.
