Hot on the heels of a new motorsport-inspired collection with A$AP Rocky, PUMA's footwear department is elevating to another level with an all-new super shoe. Reportedly titled the FAST-RB Nitro Elite, the running model is the latest to surface under the German sportswear brand's Fast-R running line — with a bid to give gravity a run for its money.
The silhouette, which began quietly trickling across the Internet last month, features a textural heel component that sits off the ground in mid-air. Built to pounce, the silhouette secures its balance at the front of the foot, where a ramp-like outsole supports layered and wavy midsole sections, which look to increase their wearers' speed and performance with an advanced build.
PUMA's NITRO lettering appears on the back of the design, signaling that the model's midsole is pumped with the label's NITRO ELITE technology, which maximizes cushioning and provides a 46% increase in energy return from its former silhouettes. The upper, meanwhile, employs mixed materials, with suede side panels laid atop a breathable mesh base. At the back of the shoe, a flexible collar offers easy on-and-off functionality.
PUMA has not yet shared a release date for the FAST-RB Nitro Elite or confirmed the silhouette's colorways. However, the available images online include creme-black, all-black, and blue-green editions.
