In the latest addition to its bold footwear portfolio, Gucci brings forth a new expression of contemporary luxury with its limited-edition Gucci Cub3d sneaker. The arrival sees the House reimagine its signature aesthetics through a mix of cutting-edge technical features, lending high functionality to the statement model.

At the center of the eclectic design is the sculptural 3D-printed midsole, giving the sneaker its distinctive character as well as its unique name. Crafted with Selective Laser Sintering technology, the sinuous platform boasts layers of lattice work that are stacked to form a polyhedron-style structure. While delivering an interesting geometrical feature, this complex midsole is designed to be lightweight, shock absorbing, and provide the wearer with a supportive bounce for long periods on-foot.

Throughout the body, Gucci continues to incorporate innovative elements including its amalgamation of environmentally friendly materials. Across the upper, the House’s original Demetra material – made of 70% plant-based fibers from bio-based sources – is cut into dynamic, wave-shaped panels and placed onto the toebox, eyestay, and heel tab to create a durable outer. The gaps between them also reveal layers of 100% recycled polyester mesh featuring a hexagonal pattern that complements the lattice midsole.

Elsewhere, the silhouette is punctuated with a range of branded components that come together with Gucci’s classic “Rosso Ancora” tone to enhance the House’s iconic luxury look. From the interlocking G emblem to a dedicated Gucci Cub3d logo, the motifs are placed on the base, tongue, and heel tab, rounding off the design.

Limited to only 20 units, the new sneaker will be unveiled to the public during Milan Design Week later this month where it will be presented in its custom packaging at the house’s Via Monte Napoleone flagship boutique.

Stay tuned on Hypebeast to find out more about the sneaker’s debut as well as wider coverage of the design fair. For more information on the highly anticipated drop, head to Gucci’s website now.
