Miniso continues to expand IP collaborations, this time with a store centered entirely around Sanrio.
Lifestyle brand Miniso has retail locations across the country and beyond, offering customers everything from collectibles to home goods. The company continues to open new storefronts throughout the world, such as a pop-up in Times Square and an all-pink flagship store in Hong Kong. Now, Miniso is planning for a new IP collection flagship store at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey, highlighting the Sanrio brand.
In the remainder of 2024, we are looking forward to opening our American Dream Mall New Jersey flagship, as well as stores in more key locations such as Santa Monica, Coronado, Miami Beach, and Burlington.
The new store will open in May. Co-designed with Sanrio, the store will be Miniso’s first Sanrio IP-inspired location within the U.S.
Miniso reports positive numbers for the brand in the North American market. The company reports a Global Merchandise Volume of $178 million, with an annual growth rate of 120%. Total North American revenue reached $160 million in 2023, an annual growth rate of 128%.
The new Sanrio IP store is far from the only recent expansion within North America. Last May, Miniso opened its Times Square flagship store. The brand also celebrated its 100th U.S. store opening just last December.
“Our vision is to become the world’s leading IP design retail group and North America has a vital part to play in achieving this,” says Bella Tu, General Manager of Miniso Overseas Directly Operated Markets and Vice President. Miniso hopes to add between 550-650 new stores globally by the end of the year.
