Following months of rumors, Philadelphia 76ers' own Joel Embiid has officially signed with Skechers. The reigning league MVP returned to the court after two months following his left meniscus injury, wearing Skechers to face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Athletic's Sham Charania reported that Embiid "has signed a multiyear endorsement contract with Skechers to become the face of the company's basketball division." He joins Julius Randle of the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers' Terance Mann in the Skechers roster. Randle and Mann were the first two NBA players to sign endorsement deals with Skechers. Embiid was seen wearing a the same Skechers pair that was once seen on Randle upon his return to the court.
Previously, Embiid considered making deals with the big hitters such as Nike, Under Armour, Jordan Brand and adidas. Signing with Skechers was a big move for the NBA star. After his return to the season, Embiid is also expected to represent Team USA at the Olympics this year.
