While the Minnesota Timberwolves have been without their star center Karl-Anthony Towns for weeks now due to injury, Anthony Edwards has stepped up his game to keep his team in the race for first place in the NBA's Western Conference. Producing one highlight after another, Edwards continues to shine in his first signature shoe, the adidas AE1. After putting John Collins on a poster last month in his "Wonder Clay" colorway, the sneaker has been officially unveiled ahead of its drop this week.
Spotted first during the AE1's reveal last September, the "Wonder Clay" iteration of the sneaker features two vibrant pink hues across its court-ready build. Starting with its signature TPU overlay, a soft pink is joined by a complementary tone at the toe. As for its uppermost layer, a textile finish carries a brighter pink, including at the laces, tongue and heel. Black interrupts the monochromatic makeover by appearing at the heel's adidas logo and the tongue's AE logo. Supporting the sneaker, a combination of BOOST and a Lightstrike midsole offers ample cushioning, allowing its wearers to fly high like Edwards.
For those eager to pick up a pair of this "Wonder Clay" colorway of Anthony Edwards' adidas AE1, it is scheduled to launch via adidas and select retailers on April 4 at 11am EDT at a starting price of $120 USD.
