Junya Watanabe MAN clearly has a love for collaborative shoes this year. Back in January, the brand revealed its 1906 Loafer with New Balance on the runway during its Paris Fashion Week show. Tossed completely in black, the hybridized shoe struck a balance of classic and casual styles by bringing sneaker elements to a loafer – accentuated by a leather and rubber build. Now the brand is shifting from loafers to mules by linking up with Oakley for a pair of Chop Saw Mules.
The collaboration utilizes one of Oakley's core silhouettes that features a casual, yet build. With the collaboration, the brands take the mule's design a bit further – updating it with a wave-like urethane sole and a suede upper construction. Completing the all-black shoe is its snug collar, a co-branded insole and the Oakley logo decal on the collar.
In the pursuit of collaborations, Junya Watanabe MAN and Brooks Brothers continued their relationship with a new collaboration last month – presenting tailored pieces and classic shirts. Take a look at the new collaborative shoe in the gallery above. Priced at ¥ 33,000 JPY (about $218 USD) the Junya Watanabe MAN x Oakley Chop Saw Mule are set to release in-store at Junya Watanabe MAN on April 5.
