Wondery and Thames & Kosmos have revealed plans for a new line of STEM toys based on the podcast Wow in the World.
Wow in the World is an educational science and technology podcast designed for kids ages 4 and up. The podcast is hosted by Mindy Thomas and Guy Raz and features a number of topics within the scientific world. Now, Wondery is partnering up with toy company Thames & Kosmos to develop a line of Wow in the World toys.
The new line will launch with seven initial products, such as a volcano experiment kit and an air rocket. Each toy will include audio content from the Wow in the World hosts, as well as a free three-month subscription to Wondery+.
As a toy company rooted in sparking curiosity, imagination, and a genuine love of learning, we are thrilled to work with Wondery to develop a toy line based on Wow in the World. Wondery is a true innovator in developing podcast IP beyond audio content into lifestyle franchises and they share our commitment to making STEM learning fun and relatable. The partnership makes so much sense and we are incredibly proud of what we’ve created together.”
Thames & Kosmos is already well-known for its variety of STEM toy offerings. The company has toys that teach kids about concepts in science and technology, and has also branched out into the worlds of arts, early childhood learning, and games.
“At Thames & Kosmos, we pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries of STEM learning through play and wanted to take this opportunity to level, up classic products and play patterns in a whole new way with toys that kids will learn something new from every time they play with them,” adds Ted McGuire, President, Thames & Kosmos. “We really feel like we’ve achieved that with these new products and can’t wait for kids’ reactions this fall.”
The Wow in the World toy line will launch later this year, just in time for the 2024 holiday season. Wow in the World airs every Monday and is available on Wondery and other podcast platforms.
