It was a record year for Toys for Tots.
The Marine Toys for Tots organization distributed almost 25 million toys, books, and other gifts to more than 10 million kids in need in 2023 — more than it has ever given out in its 77-year history.
Though the holiday season has historically been the driving force behind Toys for Tots, the organization has expanded to give back year-round. Toys and other items collected as a part of the initiative are donated to kids in financially disadvantaged situations and households, and are distributed throughout the U.S.
“Now, with a new year comes new resolve to be an even stronger force for good — because children growing up in poverty deserve nothing less,” says Lieutenant General James B. Laster, USMC (Retired), CEO of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. “With the continued generosity of our supporters, I know that in 2024 we will provide even more relief and improve the lives of more disadvantaged children.”
Among Toys for Tots’ other programs are foster care and literacy initiatives, disaster relief efforts, and a Toys for Tots Native American Program. To get involved or learn more about the program, visit the Toys for Tots website.
