I love a worldtimer complication, if only because it allows me to envision a timeline in which I’m a spunky world traveler who isn’t afraid of losing my passport or getting lost in the desert. Something about seeing the names of all the places I haven’t been to (yet) on my watch is a surefire cheer-up when the world inside my apartment starts feeling a little small. Pair that global functionality with mature, elegant styling, and you have the new NOMOS Glashütte Club Sport neomatik Worldtimer.

Measuring at a democratic 40mm with an equally accessible 20m lug width, the Worldtimer’s stainless steel case is kept slim and simple—so slim, in fact, that it claims to be one of the world’s thinnest worldtimer watches. NOMOS Glashütte’s proprietary caliber DUW 3202 neomatik movement is to thank for 4.8mm of the impressive 9.9mm total thickness of the watch and is still robust enough to offer the NOMOS swing system with DUW regulation and 100m of water resistance. And while all of this is remarkable in its own right, the German brand has more than impressive mechanical achievement up its sleeve with the Worldtimer.

Functionality is straightforward, and while the dial layout is a bit different from the enthusiast favorite Worldtimer NOMOS has been making for years, the pushbutton ease of cycling through world time zones will be familiar to anyone who has experienced one of those earlier watches. Just press the pusher at 2 o’clock until your current time zone is aligned at 12 o’clock, and the hour hand will follow and display the correct time as you travel.

Two colorways are available for the Club Sport Worldtimer, both with a galvanized sunburst finish: blue and rhodium-plated silver. The blue model’s moody dial features rhodium-plated hour and minute hands, humerals, and indexes, all coated with white Superluminova. The 24-hour subdial at the 3 o’clock position (meant to always stay on your home time) features a day-night indicator ring of two lighter shades of blue, adding a pop of contrast, while a more subtle 60-second counter sits above the 6 marker. The silver option swaps in a light blue flange and trades the darker of the two day-night ring hues for a bright red that matches the subdial’s hand. Both models feature a domed sapphire crystal with interior and exterior anti-reflective coating, a sapphire crystal case back, a pusher at 3 o’clock, and a screw-down crown at the 3 position.

It’s difficult to make a complicated watch seem elegant and fuss-free, but NOMOS Glashütte’s fine attention to detail achieves just that. The sunburst effect on the dial gives the watch a classy look regardless of which color is chosen, but the slim form factor, included steel Club Sport bracelet (with quick-change spring bars), and intuitive functionality help it do double-duty as a sporty tool watch. With a power reserve of up to 42 hours, it’s easy to imagine taking the Worldtimer on a globetrotting adventure—all the classy charm of the Club Sport name with added functionality and portability will surely make the timepiece an eager and suitable world travel companion.

The NOMOS Glashütte Club Sport neomatik Worldtimer in standard blue or silver is available beginning today, with six additional limited edition colorways to be announced at a later date. NOMOS
