The Toy Foundation’s Play Fun Program proudly awarded $405,000 to 23 children’s hospitals and health systems nationwide. With the rewarded funds, more than 245,000 pediatric patients from under-resourced communities will receive support and comfort during their medical journeys.
The Toy Foundation’s industry-wide funding initiative brings the power of play to hospitals by uniting the philanthropy of toy companies. For this year’s initiative, funds went to various children’s hospitals, including the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, the Children’s Hospital New Orleans, the Children’s of Mississippi, and more.
This program connects the toy industry to children’s hospitals to support kids in need through financial donations and various projects. Since 2021, The ToyFoundation’s Play Fund has awarded 80 grants valued at $1.6 million to hospitals and health systems nationwide.
“Play is a key component of childhood. Having access to play in difficult situations, such as a hospital stay, can provide immense comfort and emotional benefits to pediatric patients as they receive treatment and heal,” said Pam Mastrota, executive director at The Toy Foundation. “We are proud that by the end of 2025, the collective impact of our Play Fund program will have provided the power of play to 825,000 children nationwide since 2021.”
