Fans of the Masters of the Universe franchise are in for a treat, as Mattel and Dark Horse Comics will release a one-shot focusing on Lieutenant Andra on July 23.

The comic is written by Tiffany Smith, the voice of Lieutenant Andra in the “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” animated series, illustrated by Eisner winner Adriana Melo, colored by Giuliano Peratelli, and lettered by AndWorld Design. The comic is currently available for pre-order for $6.99 and will have special variant covers designed by Nate Baertsch and Skylar Patridge.

The story focuses on Lieutenant Andra as she learns to train her cadets while adjusting to her new leadership role. When a distress call from Orkas Island turns out to be from the nefarious Count Marzo, Andra will have to face her past and use her technical prowess to save Eternia.

Smith shares her thoughts on developing the character’s story: “Growing up, I was obsessed with cartoons and comics. I actually took a grade school class photo holding a She-Ra action figure. So, getting to voice an amazing character like Andra for the animated show and have my very own action figure was mind-blowing enough. But, then to have the opportunity to write and create a standalone story with her at the center with such incredible comic talent like Adriana Melo and all the amazing folks at Dark Horse Comics and Mattel has been an absolute dream come true. I cannot wait for everyone to see the adventure we created.”
