On Feb. 28, The Toy Foundation (TTF) appointed Kathleen Campisano as chair of its Board of Trustees. Alongside Vice Chair Michael Keaton and Executive Director Pam Mastrota, Campisano plans to expand the impact of TTF’s philanthropy, bringing the magic of play to children in need around the world.
Campisano is currently the Global Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager of Beacon Media Group. Throughout her 35 years in the industry, she has driven multimillion-dollar growth for companies by closely analyzing consumer trends and swiftly taking advantage of the markets they create. She served on The Toy Association’s Board of Directors from 2017-2023 before joining TTF’s Board of Trustees in 2019. The non-profit’s mission work heavily resonates with her, having initiated the Foundation’s recent children’s hospital playroom projects.
Our industry works every day to create wonderful play opportunities that shape children’s lives. By uniting behind The Toy Foundation, we can create a world where every child has the opportunity to experience the comfort, joy, and extraordinary benefits of play. As chair of The Toy Foundation, I look forward to partnering with companies of all sizes to distribute more toys and fund more children’s hospitals to support children in need around the world. Our impact is greater by working together.”
Throughout her two-year term, Campisano will lead the Foundation in implementing new initiatives that further The Toy Association’s three-year action plan. Announced in early February, this plan seeks to unite and strengthen the global toy community through engagement, education, advocacy, and service.
“As we look to expand our work through The Toy Association’s action plan,” said Mastrota, Executive Director, TTF, “Kathleen’s vast skillset and enthusiasm will steer our efforts to become the preeminent philanthropic partner for the entire toy industry as we strive to reach even more children with the power of play.”
Campisano will join newly appointed Vice Chair Michael Keaton, who also joined the Board of Trustees in 2019. As the former President of Schleich and CEO of Toysmith, Keaton is well-known for his innate ability to build a company’s brand strategically and successfully. He played an essential role in transitioning TTF into a fundraising organization that better serves the industry and will continue to expand its philanthropic impact in his new role.
TTF’s Board of Trustees also elected five new members: Brian Weiss, President, Goliath Games North America; Tammy Smitham, Vice President of Communications and Social Responsibility, Spin Master; Kristin McKay, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Global Brands, Hasbro; Erica Buxton, President, Razor USA; and Lindsay Britt, Vice President of Global Client Partnerships, Ad Sales at Paramount Global. With a wide range of expertise in a variety of areas, these members will unite all corners of the toy industry to grow the TTF’s mission and support children in need.
As Campisano said, “Our impact is greater by working together.” Visit TTF’s website to learn more about the new members and get involved in its philanthropy.
