Vantage Chronograph

First up this week is a gorgeous vintage Vantage chronograph. The original and mint black and white “reverse panda” dial is just a beauty, with perfectly aged lume. Similar styling to the famous Heuer Carrera, that’s why it’s referred to as a “poor man’s Carrera”, but honestly aside from the name, this watch is just as good at a very reasonable price. The steel case is nice and sharp, and the Valjoux 7733 manual wind movement is clean as a whistle and runs well per the seller. If you’re looking for a nice vintage chronograph, it’s hard to beat this Vantage.

Bulova Sea King

Here’s an unusual Bulova Sea King. The oval style steel case definitely stands out with its unique shape. Unpolished, with original finish and crisp edges. The N0 date code dates the watch to 1970. The charcoal dial is excellent, with the Sea King Whale logo and a day/date window at 3 o’clock. The watch comes on a period-correct stretch band that definitely suits the watch if you like the stretch bands. There is no movement picture but the watch runs well per the seller.

Vintage Lord Elgin

This vintage Lord Elgin is a sweet dress watch, with loads of style. If you need a little bling in your wrist rotation, this may be the one. The case is solid 10k yellow gold, and is nice and sharp. The gold dial has a fancy linen texture, with applied faceted gold arrow markers and gold dauphine hands. The 30 jewel Elgin automatic movement is clean and runs well per the seller. Fancy, but not overly so, this is a nice, classy gold dress watch.

Vintage Accutron Spaceview

Next up is a killer vintage Accutron Spaceview, This is the square, “TV” dial version that is much harder to find than the more common round style. The Spaceview basically has no dial, except the outer track for the hour and minute markers, showing the futuristic Accutron caliber 214 tuning fork movement. The steel case looks unpolished, and the integrated steel bracelet is correct and has the Accutron signed buckle. The watch runs well per the seller, always a must with these vintage tuning fork watches. This example comes with the original box which shows some wear but no papers. This is a really nice example of a hard to find Accutron.

Vintage Bulova Caravelle “Devil Diver”

Here’s another Bulova sub-brand, this time a Caravelle 666ft “Devil Diver”. This super chunky 1974 diver has a big block of steel case that measures 37mm wide. The case shows some patina, but is unpolished with sharp edges. The black dial is excellent, with nicely aged lume. The oversized white hands have large lume plots that match the dial perfectly, with a cool lollipop second hand. The partially recessed diver’s bezel shows a bit of wear, but is overall in decent shape. The Caravelle automatic movement is clean and runs well per the seller. Great chunky 1970’s diver that shouldn’t break the bank.

Seiko 5 Sports Speed Timer 6139-7012

Finishing this week with a brilliant vintage Seiko 5 Sports Speed Timer 6139-7012 chronograph. This is a seldom seen 6139 variant, with a really nice brown dial. The cushion style case is unpolished with the original brushed finish crisp edges. The rare brown dial has some marks, but really very tiny and on the periphery that I can see. There is also some wear to the minute hand, but again, it’s minimal. Overall this is a good looking example of a hard to find vintage Seiko 6139. The watch comes with its correct and original bracelet. The Seiko 6139 automatic movement is clean and runs well per the seller. Great chance to get an all-original JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Seiko chronograph.
