Build-A-Bear Workshop, known for its cuddly plush and unique way to shop, announces plans to expand its retail experience in Orlando, Florida. The beloved kids’ company is set to provide innovative and multi-level shopping experiences for one of the largest tourist destinations in the United States, with construction starting later this year.

To expand in Orlando, the company is partnering with Chute Gerdeman, a renowned design firm known for crafting immersive retail spaces, including the FAO Schwarz New York flagship. With this partnership, Build-A-Bear Workshop aims to expand with personalized elements and destination-based concepts while maintaining its staple retail experiences.
Consumers may visit the upcoming multi-level store inside ICON Park, which has close proximity to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld Orlando. Potential visitors can expect to see Build-A-Bear Workshop’s newest expansion, which is slated to launch in the first quarter of 2026.
“The combination of a creative interpretation of Build-A-Bear’s famous ‘make your own’ teddy bear retail concept, situated in a major destination city, is lined up to be a must-visit attraction for our wide array of fans,” says Sharon Price John, CEO of Build-A-Bear. “From our core consumer base of children to our collectible market of teens and adults that represents 40% of our sales, we look forward to continuing to create memorable moments for our guests in this one-of-a-kind location.”
“This will be the largest combination of experiential retail and entertainment at ICON Park,” says ICON Park President and CEO Chris Jaskiewicz. “We think Build-A-Bear’s decision to expand here at this scale speaks volumes about the appeal of doing business in Orange County and at ICON Park.”
