Family and friend exclusives, samples and unreleased sneakers are the definitions of "you want what you can't have" — a real tease and INDEX PORTLAND got their hands on an interesting sample. The rare find is a Nike Air Max sample that crosses over between a 95 OG and 90 in a "Neon" colorway.
This isn't the first time Nike has played around with combinations of shoe models, but unlike most, this hybrid has never seen a worldwide release. The 2013 blended sample of well-loved silhouettes features the Air Max 95 OG "Neon" uppers fused with the black sole of the Air Max 90. Utilizing the sole of the 90, the shoe reduces the original chunkiness of the 95. A union between the two showcases a seamless blend with matching neon details from the eyelets and mini Swooshes to the tip of the outsole and heel Air unit.
Just for kicks, to give you an idea of an inverted hybrid of the two silhouettes is the Patta x Nike Air Max 90 x 95 "Publicity. Publicity. Wohooooow!" released back in 2018.
INDEX PDX listed the Nike Air Max 95/90 "Neon" in a US size 9 for $1,500 USD on their website, but at the time of writing, the pair seems to have already been sold. Take a look at the rare sample above.
