Mattel is continuing a new tradition of connecting with adult fans online. Last year, the Mattel Creations Revealed livestream revealed more than 20 new collectibles, including the Masters of the Universe Origins Deluxe Sy-Klone Figure, which sold out that day.
The first Mattel Creations Revealed livestream had more than 300,000 viewers and 22,000 comments from hyped-up fans, so Mattel has decided to continue the new tradition. On March 6 from 9-11:30 a.m. PT, the Mattel Creations team will give fans a look at the road ahead for collectors of the company’s most popular brands.
“Expect big things from Barbie, Hot Wheels, Little People Collector, WWE, UNO, Masters of the Universe, and Monster High,” says Chris Down, Executive Vice President and Chief Design Officer at Mattel. “Fans will see iconic characters that have been part of these brands’ legacies but never realized in this way—until now. And here’s a major first: we’re unveiling a brand-new product platform within one of our most legendary brands, giving fans an unprecedented level of customization. Plus, we’re bringing fans into the creative process like never before, including a fan-designed t-shirt that will be featured as a creation by the fans, for the fans.”
Of course, the second-ever Mattel Creations Revealed is upgraded, bringing fans a new and exciting experience. Some fans will even be featured in the livestream itself, with the six winners of the Fan Collection Contest participating in the stream at Mattel Design HQ in El Segundo, California.
“We’re making it even bigger this year,” Down says. “We also listened to fans who wanted the surprises to stay under wraps until the livestream. This year, there will be no early reveals—just a few carefully placed Easter eggs for our most eagle-eyed collectors. We want fans to experience every surprise live, alongside an amazing community that shares their passion.”
The livestream will also feature chats with members of Mattel’s design team as they talk about the process behind some of our favorite figures and toys.
“At Mattel Creations, we’re not just making toys — we’re crafting compelling experiences for fans who are deeply passionate about these brands,” Down says. “Revealed pulls back the curtain, letting these enthusiasts meet some of the brilliant designers who pour their creativity into every collectible. I truly believe we have the most talented creators in the industry, and nothing brings them more joy than seeing the delight of our fans responding to their creations. That’s the heart of Mattel Creations Revealed—it’s our way of connecting with and saying thank you to our biggest fans!”
The exact lineup of collectibles is still a secret, but it will continue Mattel’s run of collectibles that fuse iconic Mattel brands with fan-favorite licenses like Harry Potter and Stranger Things.
“This is where our design team really thrives — finding that perfect synergy between two iconic brands,” Down says. “Every collaboration starts with the “Why?” What’s the unique connection that makes this mashup exciting? From there, our designers dive deep into the licensed world, becoming superfans themselves. They hide easter eggs throughout the product and packaging that only true diehards will spot. The final step is all about the details—honoring both brands authentically while making sure the execution feels fresh and unexpected.”
Mattel Creations Revealed will be on March 6 from 9-11:30 a.m. PT.
