Striker Entertainment inked a deal with NHK Enterprises — a related company of NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation — to lead the return of Domo in North America.

Nearly 25 years after the fuzzy brown character first connected with fans, Striker will zero in on crafting a full licensing program spanning toys, apparel, collectibles, and digital products. The agency says that plans are in place to back the brand with “fresh, relatable content” across a “dynamic social media presence” aimed at introducing Domo to new fans while reconnecting with those who were there the first time.

Domo proved itself to be a very successful character-driven consumer products brand in the early 2000s. Whereas the character remains the same, the way consumers engage with and share content has dramatically shifted, and Striker is looking forward to marrying the nostalgia factor with meme culture and bringing this special character back to existing fans and introducing him to a new generation."
