Mattel and Universal Products & Experiences have renewed their licensing agreement to continue production of toys inspired by Jurassic World.
The renewal will allow Mattel to continue as Universal Products & Experiences’ global toy licensee, producing action figures, playsets, plush, and games based on the popular movie franchise. The licensing agreement started in July 2017 and was announced a year prior. Mattel and Universal hold similar licensing partnerships for DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls, and Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious.
“Mattel offers incredible innovation and craftsmanship along with a storied history of creating enduring toy lines. The 30-year legacy of the Jurassic World franchise is stronger than ever, and we’re excited to bring fans of all ages even more awe-inspiring and thrilling toys through this extended partnership.”
Universal recently announced a new Jurassic World event film coming in 2025, and an animated Netflix series, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, streaming later this year.
“Together, we’ve not only established Jurassic World as a top-tier toy property, but also built a legacy of evergreen success,” says Nick Karamanos, Senior Vice President of Entertainment Partnerships at Mattel. “Jurassic World fans are incredibly devoted and we are committed to delivering consistently stunning products, innovative marketing strategies, and impactful retail programs.”
A wide range of products inspired by Jurassic Park and Jurassic World is currently available at retail.
