As the beginning of the NBA season rapidly approaches, Nike Basketball and LeBron James have come together to announce the superstar's 22nd entry in his beloved Nike LeBron line -- the Nike LeBron 22. The sneaker's shape, an evolution of the recent slim, low-cut designs delivered by the LeBron 20 and LeBron 21, is a familiar one. James sported the new sneaker throughout his historic run during this year's Olympic Games in Paris and a complete set of visuals for its debut colorway surfaced a day ago. Now, we have a complete rundown of its key specifications.
Arriving after the debut of his first training shoe with the Swoosh, the Nike LeBron TR1, the LeBron 22 is similarly designed to bring the best out of the veteran leader. The result of decades of working in tandem, it focuses on "channeling and rising above pressure." Its construction begins with a new midfoot saddle that presents control via strengthened stability. The sole unit also sports Cushlon 2.0 foam alongside Zoom technology located at both the forefoot and heel for taking off and landing with ease. Honing in on the outsole, its traction zones are specially designed to back James' key movements: jab steps, reverse pivots, takeoffs and step-backs. Its luxe detailing favors premium materials and unique colorways such as this gray, neon green, pink and black "Crown Jewel" take that serves as the launch look.
The Nike LeBron 22 will debut on retail shelves with this "Crown Jewel" colorway on November 1 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers worldwide at a price of $180 USD.
