Michigan-based board game company Carrom has returned to the market under new management. Originally developed in Ludington, Michigan, in 1889, the company is known for its unique and sustainable wooden board game boards, which include offerings such as Skittles, Nok Hockey, and a Multi-Game Board that enables players to play up to 85 different games with one board.

A group of investors is shifting the company’s focus to its e-commerce presence and new branding. The company’s new core tenets are analog gaming, tactile play, and togetherness while maintaining the company’s dedication to delivering long-lasting entertainment products to families. Among the investors in the group is Grand Forks Holdings, led by Ian Sheffield, Jennifer Taylor, and Bradley Taylor. With Sheffield’s investment knowledge and the Taylors’ business background, the company looks forward to seeing how Carrom’s marketing strategies evolve.

While in the middle of its revival, Carrom is also working with health insurance provider Aflac to donate hundreds of foosball games to the Columbus, Georgia, and Columbia, South Carolina, areas. Bradley Taylor shares the process behind the donation: “When we recently acquired hundreds of foosball tables, our first inclination was to find happy homes for them, benefiting non-profit organizations that could put them to good use. We weren’t sure how to make it happen, so we contacted our friends at Aflac and asked them if they could help identify the appropriate beneficiaries. We are now pleased to share that many of our foosball tables are being enjoyed by kids throughout the Columbus, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina communities! Thank you to Aflac for helping to pave the way for us to support these deserving charities with entertainment that is sure to provide many hours of fun.”
