Kevin Durant and Nike Basketball have worked together closely for decades, establishing a lineup of signature shoes that totals 16 silhouettes to date. As expected, this catalog is expected to grow this year with the introduction of the Nike KD 17. Last year, the Nike KD 16 was teased by Durant just before the NBA Playoffs, with it releasing later in the year. Now, it looks like this flow may be repeated as we now have a first look at what to expect from the Nike KD 17.
A sole image of the Nike KD 17 has now surfaced courtesy of sneaker leaker Sharkicks1, highlighting the sneaker in its "Sunrise" colorway. Its upper notably features a cage that is very similar to the Air Max Plus' signature TPU overlay. As for the color arrangement of this "Sunrise" iteration, a white to orange gradient is present at the sneaker's synthetic base while a light orange to dark orange gradient appears at the cage. A large black Swoosh is visible towards the rear alongside white and orange detailing at the heel, with the sneaker supported by a white and blue midsole that is backed by an icy translucent outsole.
At the time of writing, neither Kevin Durant nor Nike Basketball have disclosed when to expect the Nike KD 17 to make its debut. Stay tuned for updates, including an official visual breakdown of this "Sunrise" colorway, as the shoe is currently expected to launch via Nike SNKRS and select retailers on May 17 at a starting price of $150 USD.
