The New Balance 1906L or 1906 Loafer, first revealed through a collaboration with Junya Watanabe Man, has just surfaced as an inline example in a vibrant green colorway.
Making its debut during Paris Fashion Week for menswear Fall Winter 2024, the shoe combines the sporty essence of the 1906D with a twist of class through leather piping and paneling on the upper. Where this latest inline pair deviates from the Junya collab is in color and in the material. While it does maintain the overall shape and structure, the base layer of the upper sees a swap to mesh from leather, for a more breathable shoe.
What's maintained is the leather paneling, which is presented through penny-toe or penny-loafer styling. The shoe also maintains the same high-spec sole, which offers high shock absorption and repulsion. Thanks to the construction of the sole, the bulk of the shoe features a slightly rugged and technical design. While the Junya pair had his label attached to the tongue, this inline pair opts for a branding-free tongue and instead features a small "N" logo in silver at the top of the toe box.
At the time of writing, specific details on retail pricing and release dates have yet to be revealed for the inline 1906L, however, more news on the silhouette is expected to come from official New Balance channels soon.
