Maison Margiela sub-label MM6 just showed at Milan Fashion Week, and the runway presentation was filled with notable, classic Margiela moments. One of the white-painted standouts arrived in the form of a footwear collaboration with Dr. Martens.
Stomping down the runway came MM6 x Dr. Martens' 1460 8-eyelet boots, hand-painted in white paint to match an assortment of the collection's hand-painted garments. The entirety of the boot, for the most part, is dipped in the chalky white paint, peeling off in some places and around the outsole and laces.
The house's Spring/Summer 2025 showcase signaled a compilation of Margiela's different eras and style codes, leaning heavily on the white paint motif that has surfaced throughout its history. Elsewhere, cowboy boots were covered in crackling white paint as well.
MM6 revealed its first-ever Dr. Martens collaboration earlier this year at its Fall/Winter 2024 runway, debuting the duo's dual-parted offering, a hybrid silhouette that combined a derby shoe and a loafer into one.
