Teddy Santis' Aimé Leon Dore treated fans to its Fall/Winter 2024 preview, tapping Mach-Hommy to highlight what's in store for the brand next season. While the range is set to debut this week, there are some elements that are expected to drop later on this year, including two possible ALD-designed New Balance 997s that were included within the lookbook.
While Santis continues to work closely with New Balance as both a collaborator and the lead for the MADE in USA division, with ALD already preparing the 990v4 in its own looks this fall, the two 997s serve as additional drops to look forward to. Notably, the second pair pictured in the gallery above looks to be the "Yellow Tongue" pair from the duo's debut project from 2019. Whether this is pointing towards a re-release or is merely a callback remains to be determined. As for the other design, it sees the 997 presented in olive as maroon and navy join the upper towards the collar and another splotch of yellow enlivens the MADE in USA-branded tongue, matching its predecessor.
At the time of writing, neither Aimé Leon Dore nor New Balance have disclosed when these two 997s will be hitting the market and if they're a part of an official project as a duo. Stay tuned for updates, including a complete set of visuals for both pairs, as we expect them to launch in the coming months via New Balance and select retailers around the $200 USD price point.
