Salehe Bembury is cooking up something new with Crocs for his latest release. Looking to grow his partnership with Crocs with as series of new Pollex Clogs designed in tandem with his peers, Bembury has taken to Instagram to announce "Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job."
Slated to be a new series of collaborations that sees Bembury team up with artists and visionaries in the industry to create their own Crocs, the first of the release sees a collaboration with Jonas Wood for the Pollex Clogs. A contemporary artist based out of Los Angeles, Wood has been best known for his genre defying portraits, still lifes and landscapes. Some of his most recognizable works include his basketball prints and paintings, utilizing his bold colors and graphics that often combined historical references with images of objects, interiors and people. His signature translation of the three-dimensional world into a flat, vivid one has taken him around the globe with various exhibitions in galleries. His unique perspective of using line and flat color to create an unexpected vision of scale has earned him one of the most uniquely recognizable aesthetics in the art world.
The Crocs clog collaboration takes on Wood's stippling technique and color blocking in hues of blue, grey and black throughout the shoe. Releasing as a part of the "Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job" series, the shoe is dropping on August 22 at 9 a.m. PST at online at BeASpunge. Only 1000 pairs will be available.
