After an action-packed summer that saw the release of the world's most durable duffle bag and the premiere of a forthcoming 005 sneaker, the Canadian trail running masterminds at norda are back with the brand's latest seasonal collection: four new colorways spread across the 001 and 002 models. The 002 is the star of the show here, as it's been produced in three fresh iterations as opposed to the 001's single new colorway. Still, each pair in the quartet combines the top-tier materials and tireless durability that the brand has become renowned for with striking color schemes to suit various preferences.
The 002 — a low-stack, ultra-responsive style — has been done up in "Oak," "Lichen" and "Stealth Black" color schemes. The first of these offers a woodsy brown upper contrasted with a black tongue and black midsole, while an additional pop of flair is available via its purple laces (if you're feeling more muted, black laces come with the "Oak" as well). "Lichen" is similarly nature-inspired, drawing its bold green upper tone from the symbiotic blend of fungus and algae spotted on rocks and trees in the forest while grounding the bold tone with white accents and a classic gum outsole. Last but not least, the "Stealth Black" does precisely as its name indicates, serving up a sleek and subtle black palette that fans of the brand have been clamoring for since the 002 released, as "Stealth Black" is also one of the 001's most popular assemblages. On the subject of the 001, norda's original max cushion and support sneaker, the lone colorway included in the drop is "Axolotl," a blend of a pinkish-red upper with a bold red midfoot stripe and stone grey, silver and black embellishments.
Though their looks may differ, all use norda's proprietary bio-based Dyneema blend for their uppers, a material that's 15 times as strong as steel by weight. Other technical enhancements include custom Vibram SLE midsoles and outsoles that blend Vibram's Litebase and Megagrip technologies, plus a hidden foot locking system, bespoke eTPE insoles and even laces that make use of bio-based Dyneema.
If you're keen on purchasing a pair, all four are available via the norda webstore now, each retailing for $295 USD.
