About Giulio Romano

Giulio Romano was born in Rome in 1499. This multi-talented painter, architect and engineer started his career as a pupil of the famous painter Raphael and went on to become an artist in his own right who is still treasured by collectors today. Giulio recognized the centrality of light and colours in art and helped establish the High Renaissance style and made a significant contribution to the spread of 16th century Italian style throughout Europe. It is not surprising that this enormous talent became the namesake for an exciting new collection of Italian watches. Like the Renaissance artist, Giulio Romano watches are characterized by imagination and variety. Each collection is named after a different region in Italy and shows off a different aspect of Italian style and design. The elegant Toscana pays homage to the Bauhaus movement with its playfully colourful dials. This strikingly original design features three sub-dials, along with an easy-to-use deployment clasp. The Pescara with its oversized, colour coordinated pushers is Italian design at its best. This dramatic drivers style watch is available in three different colour combinations and features easy to read sub-dials for day, month, and 24-hour timings. The Piemonte will remind many of a much more expensive sporting and yachting brand with its attention to detail and dramatic use of stainless steel screws to attach the top ring. It is hard to believe a timepiece of this quality is available in this watch’s price range.
